Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company and its affiliates that extends the Disney brand to merchandise ranging from apparel, toys and home décor to books and magazines, foods and beverages, stationery, electronics and animation art.
Winnie the Pooh made his debut in 1926 in the first book of Pooh stories written by A.A. Milne that featured the exquisite illustrations of E.H. Shepard. On February 4, 1966, Disney artists first animated Pooh for Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, a special cartoon featurette and the studio's first animated treatment of the famous children's books by Milne. Pooh is loved by moms, infants, toddlers and preschoolers as he and his friends help the young at heart take pleasure in escaping to the nostalgia, simple joys and gentle whimsy of the Hundred Acre Wood.
