He said: ‘O Bharata, whenever Dharma suffers and Adharma gets on ascendancy, I take incarnation to protect the virtuous, destroy evil and establish again the rule of Dharma’.,Among his many incarnations, ten are prominent and popularly known as Dashavatar.
